NEWS AND STORIES - Join HUB in Making a Difference

Supporting HUB Ministries INC Means Supporting Your Community

February 20, 2024  Our HUB team members are the people who actually make an impact in changing the lives of currently incarcerated, returning citizens and their families. We're proactive and action-oriented and don't just talk about what needs to be done.  Returning citizens need all kinds of assistance and support in their efforts to resettle back into their communities and society.  (In this photo, John receives some greatly appreciated fuel assistance thanks to HUB Ministries).

We are here to build friendships and connect our friends with healthy resources. We're helping to bridge the divide for returning citizens who are making the transition from incarceration to freedom. Please join us in this noble and beneficial cause.

February 22, 2024  A document on the U.S. Department of Justice website titled “Myths About Collaboration Between Corrections and Faith-Based Groups” says, “Preliminary research suggests that outside volunteers, especially faith-based people, can be an indispensable catalyst of positive transformation in the attitudes, behavior, and rates of successful reentry of prisoners.”

March 23, 2024  Our HUB team members have been making more and more one on one visits with inmates at the Waupaca County Jail.  One inmate I've visited with a number of times has had no other visitors since he was arrested back in December of 2023.  In other cases we are able to help the inmate make plans for their return to freedom.  In some cases where the individual has no family support, no job, no place to live, no transportation, no telephone, no money; starting over can feel extremely overwhelming.  Our HUB team members are ready to assist.  ________________________________________________________________________

April 5, 2024  Tom's release from jail this morning came early.  4AM.  John's release followed at 7AM.  Both men were met by a member of our HUB Ministry team upon release.  First item of business - a good hot breakfast and real coffee.  We first met these men at the Waupaca County Jail when they attended our HUB Friday Night Chapel Service.  During the following months of incarceration several one on one visits were made by various members of our HUB Chaplain team.  Planning was made  for their upcoming release dates.   Tom will be taken to Green Bay on Monday to begin a year long program at the Adult and Teen Challenge Center.  https://atcnew.com/  John is staying this weekend with one of our HUB volunteers and on Monday he has several job interviews.  STARTING OVER.  If you're reading this please make a gift to support the work of HUB.  Thanks.

  • $2500 dollar grant received by HUB Ministries provided by the Waupaca Community Chest.
  • April Project of the month:  "Lifting Loneliness" Gofundme fundraiser reached $385 dollars on April 28th.  Still a couple days left to reach our goal of $500 dollars.

A gas card is a big help when starting over.
